This past week I attended two events for our newly-released anthology, Just Moms. It’s a collection of 28 stories on the challenges of raising children with Christian values. Some stories are funny, some inspiring, and all capture something of the desire we all have to give our children just the right balance of freedom and support. It’s a really great book and I’m proud to have a piece in it.

On Tuesday night there was a reading in Newberg. I was suffering from a head cold, but couldn’t stay away. It was held at Chapters, a nice little coffee shop and bookstore. And then yesterday we drove down to the quaint town of Brownsville where another reading was held in their public library. That was just the right setting for a small group of moms and author supporters to hear a few of the pieces read and talk about how various stories might encourage parents in their daily rounds of child-rearing.

The fun part is getting to sign the books. I feel like I’m playing grown-up and get to write my name next to my story. Maybe one day I’ll have a book all my own. If not, this was the next-best thing.
