I’ve always been heavily impacted by music. I’ve been known to ask restaurant workers what’s playing in the background if I don’t recognize the artist and want to hang on to a great sound. Song lyrics are poetry and certain chord progressions capture my heart every time. My good friend, Dan Zimmerman, is a true artist. He’s a painter, a song writer and an accomplished performer. His singing voice is heartfelt and gorgeous. He can be edgy and he can be smooth and he can break your heart with the truth. One of the best concerts I ever attended was performed in a little hole in the wall place here in my hometown by Dan.  He’s so good that everyone should know his name in the same way we know Bob Dylan or James Taylor. But most of you probably have never heard of him. Well, here’s your chance. His latest album is called Cosmic Patriot and one of the cuts is Symbols in this World of the World to Come. Follow the links to his album called the Northwest Years. There’s some amazing music on that album. Listen to Secret of the Burning Heart or Go Down Burning, a number he did with another friend named Blair Stevenson. Good stuff.     http://www.soundsfamilyre.com/music.php?releaseID=108
