The long-awaited release of Just Moms: Conveying Justice in an Unjust World is finally reality. Twenty-eight women have told their stories of passing on Christian values to their children and all the challenges of that endeavor. Whether they are teaching love, peace-making, contentment or living simply, their stories are funny, inspiring and honest. These aren’t super-moms–they’re in the trenches of parenting just as all Moms are, but their stories put the struggles in perspective and will bring hope to those feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole parenting process. And yes, one of the twenty-eight essays is mine. Yippee! I’m taking baby steps toward having a book of my own. Writing with this group of women was a wonderful experience. And because of the Mennonite background of many of the contributors I happen to know a good number of them. Just Moms is available from Barclay Press and Amazon.com. If you want to spread the word about a great new book on Christian parenting, log on to Amazon.com and leave a comment. And please…if you’re raising children or know someone who is, buy the book–it’s great.
