The weather the past few days has been both hot and windy. That’s a sure recipe for killing the potted plants on my deck. The ones with deep roots in lots of soil in the flowerbeds are fine, but the ones with a limited amount of soil to hold moisture are in big trouble. I think it’s the same with believers. Those with a strong root structure in the Word and in time knowing the Lord or those who charged into their faith with both feet and have never looked back are probably fine when the weather gets bad. But look around for those who may need some extra TLC in “bad weather.” Right now there are lots of bad times with our weak economy. Many people are without jobs and have no prospects of getting one. Many are ill, many are desperately worried about loved ones with addictions or other life-threatening problems.Look around you for the ones who may be especially fragile in their circumstances. I wish I’d remembered to give my fragile plants an extra measure of water today because they really suffered. Is there someone in your life who could use an extra measure of care today?

Jan, you are so right! And unlike plants, sometimes people can look healthy and strong when inside they are wilting.
Your website is beautifully laid out and a joy to read.
